TS College Tours provides opportunities for international students to visit colleges and universities before beginning the application process. Visiting institutions is extremely beneficial as students are able to experience campus environments first-hand and get a sense of what type of college or university is the best fit for them. As well, visiting colleges can be very motivational: Students often hear from parents or counselors about working hard academically in order to get into a ‘good college’ but most students do not have a concrete idea of what they are supposed to be working so hard towards as they have never visited. Many students report that after visiting and falling in love with a specific college or two, they are more motivated to work hard academically because now they know what they want. Finally, many colleges are very interested in accepting students who have demonstrated sincere interest. Visiting is one way to let them know you are a serious student.
Since 2009, students from around the world have joined TS College Tours programs. Participants have come from over 25 different countries including students from Japan, Brazil, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, China, Singapore, Kenya, England, Sweden, Canada, US, Malaysia, Indonesia, and several more.
Each year, TS College Tours programs cover some of the most popular colleges for international students in the US, Canada, and the UK. Along with their open programs, where any student from around the world can sign up, they also offer custom tour programs for schools, groups and families.
The background of the TS College Tours tour leaders – all of whom all of whom have worked in college counseling, allow them to understand international and national perspectives. That is KEY to students exploring colleges with their guidance. The tour leaders are some of the most well-known and well-respected counselors in the world and have a special talent for connecting with high school students.
Trevor, the founder of TS College Tours, is currently a high school counselor at Singapore American School. Previously, he worked for several years at International School Manila (ISM) where he served as High School Counselor and Department Head of Counseling PK-12. Before working overseas, he was a High/Middle School Principal in Canada. He has visited over 100 college campuses in the US, Canada and Asia. He has organized and coordinated numerous counseling and college programs and presentations for students, parents and teachers on a wide variety of topics related to the college admissions process.
